BG has become the premier private high school in the area, welcoming a diverse class of students each year.
We continue to develop Bishop Guilfoyle and its campus as a valuable resource for everybody in the area. BG provides a rigorous, college preparatory educational experience where students earn college credits during their junior high and high school experience.
BG is innovative, using advanced teaching methods and technologies. BG’s educational approach uses the latest proven pedagogies, and the staff believes in continual improvement. In response to the quickly changing economy and society, our students are prepared to thrive and fully succeed in all aspects of their lives.

The VISION of Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School is to exist as an essential and perpetual resource for our community by providing exceptional educational experiences that guide and inspire students to fully develop and share their abilities and talents for the good of all God’s children.
BG welcomes and serves any family who wishes to attend, regardless of religious affiliation or financial need. As a wholly independent entity, BG is managed by a Board of Trustees and is separate from the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown and its parishes.
We proudly maintain the Roman Catholic religious tradition in the total sense, which is animated and fundamentally about love for others and the act of love for something greater than ourselves. (Matthew 22: 36-40). Initially founded in 1922 as a parochial school, Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School has a long tradition of successfully educating students who go on to lives of high impact and deep meaning.
Now, as an independent school, BG brings the best from our Catholic heritage, where we carry on the finest parts of our tradition, with multi-generational families joining with those new to BG. We are a comfortable place for families of all faiths to experience our traditions and passion for helping students become their best selves. BG is relevant for today and preparing students for an exciting future.
